“There is no culture without agriculture.”
*This Writing is dedicated to the memory of My Grand Ole Dad David A. Williams (Daddy Ag) and My Savior Cee Educator, God Brother, and Friend Almighty Dawud Allah (Divine Master Builder)! Peace and blessings to All of the Human families of the planet Earth. I come in the name of King Divine Allah. As an educator, gardener, and 4th generation farm worker I have been fortunate to learn skills that have contributed to my growth and evolution as a Black Man. These skills align with the 5th Principle of “What we teach” in the Nation of Gods and Earths…Education should be fashioned to enable us to be self-sufficient as a people. Growing up in rural SC and working on a farm I’ve gain an appreciation of how the science of agriculture contributes to becoming self-sufficient by growing and producing food and other materials for the well-being of you and your family.
Growing, raising, and producing your own food should be apart of your daily existence if you are looking to be self-sufficient. If you are not the producer (maker and owner) then you are dependent on the producer. Growing your own food gives you more control of your health and well-being because you have the knowledge of what is going into your body. I grew up working on a farm, so I was privileged to learn agriculture skills earlier in my childhood. The skills learned on the farm easily transitioned into an adulthood passion for small scale gardening. Now I am dedicated to educating, empowering, and improving our communities through Agriculture education and gardening. The benefits of learning the skills of agriculture is that you can produce your own food regardless of where you are located. You do not need a large 50-acre farm to feed your household…You can produce plenty of food on a ¼ acre of land. If you do not have access to land you can also consider container planting, planting in buckets, and using raised beds. In closing I will leave you with 4 basic agriculture pointers of planting crops:

Peace family, huge shout out to Queen Harmony for continuous maintenance of garden beds, Tasha, Meek, Ulysess and his beautiful family, as well as community members of Kingstree, SC; Ms. Dot. Ms.. Harriet. We recently came together to add compost to the soil and top it with mulch. It's been to work with individuals who share the same goal: to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In addition to building a stronger bond with community members, my favorite part of Fruitation have been harvesting the fresh herbs and making tea at home! Drying the herbs always creates a delightful aroma in the house. I like to make tea bags, boil a pot of dried herbs and strain the tea, or simply use a tea infuser for a single cup. Use the link below for tea infusers on Amazon.
